1972 & 1994-D LMC - Errors Help Please!

The 1994 looks like Machine Doubling. Note the width of the angle on the '4'. Note the reduction on that area.
The 1972 show extreme die polishing reducing the devices size. The marks are from the reeds on a larger coin that damaged the fields.

There were two dies with the same year 1972; the 1st one was die polishing. Was 2nd die Machine Doubling?
