Oh my goodness, such knowledge within this forum! I have been reading and studying info and pictures. I need an update for my brain's digital filing system.

I have read about doubled die and RPM. Is the below D/D an RPM? If yes, is it common or is it something to hold on to? Or...do I have it all wrong and need to go back to the books?

Thanks so much for all that you share with beginners.

I am by no means an expert here but is it possible that this is a tilted D/D. If not atleast it is a decent silver coin with value there.

Thank you Roro57. I am going to my first local coin club meeting later this month, so maybe someone can directly view it there. My photos are still a work in progress.

It is Machine Doubling. The mint mark is pushed aside. Sometimes the mint mark is higher than the other devices on the die. Because the mint mark is added after the die is created, the mint mark is later added to the die. If it is taller, the Machine Doubling after the strike can bounce touching just that area. Machine Doubling doesn't follow rules. You can see different doubling difference between each strike:

These came out of the OBW roll and you can see the same markers on each coin. The Machine Doubling varies on each strike. It just depends on how much play is in the machines setup. They can adjust it, and it will be fine again.
