It is a partially Grease Filled Die, not uncommon.
No extra premium as it just covers a small area.

@GS' first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like your quarter was struck through a grease-filled die. I don't think that these are particularly rare as we see them often here on CCF. I'm not sure that you could expect much over face value for this relatively small amount of missing design, but I'll be interested to see what others think.

Danger Will Robinson - I am a newbie. However, I was just researching State Quarter errors. The filled die error is common from what I have read, but some people are evidently interested in it. Maybe because of the location and changing the meaning of the phrase? It appears to have sold on ebay for $15 to $30+. $15-$30 for 25 cents... not too shabbie!

Another case of giving a coin a name and unloading it on the new collectors to realize they paid too much for them. (Anything over face is a rip off)
