A clip would have either a straight or semi circle edge.
Looks like you can see zinc showing on the edge which
would mean it is damage, not a ragged edge. PMD

The best way to tell, is to look at the edge. If it were a clipped coin the edge would be plated. On your coin you can see zinc on the edge. SO it is an altered coin.

This is exactly correct, and why zinc cents are perhaps the easiest clips to authenticate. The planchets were punched first, then plated, so the inside edge of any genuine clipped post-1982 cent will not show the zinc core.

I have seen only one genuine ragged clip on a zinc cent, and the entire edge of that coin was plated, if I can find pictures I will share.
