Some PMD apparent, but devices can also been seen deep within the crevasses which makes me think it was de-laminating before struck?.

Some of the missing metal seems to be more "organic" in shape/contour rather than "created", as do the cracks.

It will be interesting to see how bent/or not the coin is when I get it in hand. Weight might tell some of the story as well.

Opinions greatly appreciated

if so, how would one remove metal while leaving traces of the devices behind?

A lot going on with that coin, like it has a story to tell. It makes me dizzy just looking at it.
