It weighs 4.0 grams, diameter 12 millimeters, and appears to be silver although I just realized that I didn't study it carefully enough to rule out a fake.

The clearest letters are part of a word ending in ...METEL

Appears to be a Republican issue (denarius) of L. Caecilius Metellus, 96 BC. Reverse is Roma seated on shields, being crowned by Victory.
