Good morning. I know the rim is wide bottom skinny upper. The P mint mark is different. I angled different sides and it's hard to explain. What do you think

Not a "wide rim" variety, aka "near date". By the mint mark looks like damage.

You have a normal SBA Dollar. The mintmark just shows damage.

Coop the wide rim does not make the date look closer, the date IS closer. And if the die isn't centered properly you can have (I've seen them) Near date coins with narrow rims. That is why describing the two type of 79 P SBA as wide and narrow rim is not a good idea. To some extent the width of the rim is a function of the die placement. It is possible to have far dates with wide rims and close dates with narrow rims.

Same thing:
1. The date is closer to rim.
2. The wide rim is closer to the date.
3. The difference that year was the wider rim which continued to be use the following years. (The normal ones on 1979-P were the narrow rims.

Candylee,
to CCF. You need to start your own thread. If you are talking about the mint mark,it looks like damage. You may want to practice your pic taking skills a bit,the better the pics you post the better we can help you.
