Hemisfair '68 was a big deal in Texas -- the state even changed its license plates to a special design to commemorate the event. The 1968 "Hemisfair" white-on-black plates (along with 60s white-on-black TX plates in general) are now becoming scarce and hard to find in decent shape; white-on-black wouldn't make another appearance on our plates until the late 2000s!
