@gioria, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks to me like you might not have a coin, but rather a medal with the loop removed. The medal was issued for the coronation of Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia in 1930 AD (BE1923). Here is a link to a little more info: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthope...r-1860884541

@Spence, That's a very interesting insight.
Thank you very much for your help.

He is a very interesting historical figure and the focus of the Rasta religion. I don' think that portrait bares much resemblance though (not that I think you are wrong Spence, just an observation).

The profile faces right on the genuine coins.

Quote: The profile faces right @albert, do you have a numista or other link to post with the coin version of this? All I could find in a quick interwebs search was the coronation medal.

What I meant to say in my previous post is that when you look over the genuine coinage of Ethiopia, the emperor's profile faces right. If you check out the Coronation Medal: Ref. Bruce X#19 1/2 Talari (which is similar to the OP), the emperors profile faces left. There is no "coin version" of this medal.
