Hello all.
I am just trying to get a handle on the grading.
This is my first time trying to accurately grade a coin... 16 of em.
I am just going to post all pics. They should have the Year/Price/Grade. Can you take a look to see if you disagree with the grade or the price?
Thanks a lot!
Jordan

1880-O F-12/VF-20
1882-O VG-08 (damage on face?)
1884-O VG-08
1885 Damaged, net F-12
1885-O G-06
1888 G-04
1888-0 F-12/15
1889-S AG-02
1891-O VG-08/10
1892-S G-04
1894-S AG-02/3
1896 F-12/15
1896-O VG-08/10
1900-O VG-08/10
1921 XF-40/45
1921-S VF-20/25

This was a real quick look-through using my own collection (mostly PCGS slabs) for reference, so my grades are certainly open for debate. Grading from pictures is difficult, a rough estimate at best and I didn't look too closely for damage nor cleaning except the 1885 which is clearly damaged. None of the top four TPGs show any mercy with Morgans. Almost all raw coins on ebay are over-graded by the sellers; in many instances, they are waaaaay over-graded. In most instances with these particular Morgans, one or two grades down won't significantly change the value.

NOTES: I didn't peek at Susan's grades so I wouldn't be influenced. Also, with numerous images of the same type coins, it is difficult to resist comparative grading with the others rather than from an outside standard. And, pictures through plastic distort the surfaces and there may be marks on the plastic cover which are not on the coin. Ain't nuthin' like a coin in the hand for grading.

The 1884 O appears to be filled. Is this a " VAM"?
