I got this one in the 1920's set from the USPS "A Century of US Stamps & Coins" series. As far as I can tell, this one is neither banged up nor polished. I haven't done anything except take it out of the cardboard holder. What do you think - Fine?
Fine? I think that's just right. I'd say F-15. Enjoy your coin. Before it goes too slick, I think the SLQ is one of the nicest designs, especially the soaring eagle on the reverse.
I'd been figuring it was worth only about $5 to $7, so I'm not terribly disappointed if it was cleaned. At least it wasn't altered in a way that gives it a fake-looking shine.
closer to VG10. the numerous rims marks on both sides may details the coin for Environmental damage as it looks like it was slid along something abrasive like cement. looks like she was cleaned at some point
