I can't find anything on Wexler variety Vista or copper coins concerning DDO examples for the 2003 d. I found this coin and had to go ahead and post given the clarity of some of the pictures that I got. Specifically, I'd like you guys to take a look at the TRU in Trust and the TY in Liberty and let me know what you think. I typically wouldn't post anything this late-stage, especially combined with something unproven for the year but had to throw it out there, if for nothing other than a learning experience on what not to look for. Cheers!

Not seeing a DDO. The only thing that catches my eye is the Y in LIBERTY,the right arm looks a bit thick. Where are you seeing notching?

On the left vertical bar, bottom right side, on the letter r in Trust, there appears to be a very small notch similar in magnitude to the inside spread apparent on the same letter towards the middle of the device.

I was thinking that the Y in Liberty looks thick as well and , was spreading he wrong way oh, i.e. towards the center, to be soly LSDD or DF related. Also perhaps on the letter u as well. I see what you mean by the rest of the coin I think, though I'm still learning how to look at these things, the only Distortion and discoloration that can be seen and the actual field is around that letter y. And only very minimally so at that but it does look like a little something right?

Hi John1. Hopefully this is a better picture of the Y in Liberty.

This is probably a dead topic or rapidly becoming so, hopefully you guys will see my question before moving on. My question being does either one of you have or know any good links to high resolution pictures that show planchette field distortion due to being struck by a doubled die?

Much better images. I see a lot of die flow on the fields. This indicates that the dies were getting very close to retirement. Their appears to be some very light Machine Doubling on the motto devices. Looks like you have a nice software program? But a 100% improvement. Thanks. Now we can see what you have on your coin. Although this is not a keeper coin, now we can look forward to greater images on the next one.
