at first I thought it was a nik in the coin but it to perfect if you know what mean by that its a very strait line. what do you guys think happened here

@gabe999, based on this one photo, it could be a mint error (but more likely just damage). Can you please also post an overall of the rev and a close-up of this one flattened area? Thx.

Agree with Spence.
Going to need larger and clearer photos of both sides.
A photo of the edge would help.
Also please crop your photos before uploading.

I see an environmentally damaged quarter that has also suffered physical damage at 4:00.
