Can you add photos of the edge in those areas?

IndianGoldEagle,
I can't, I haven't bought it yet, not sure if I will.
It's also slabbed, which is nice, not sure how they got those pictures if it's slabbed. They don't have pictures of it in the slab. Also they have a no return policy which is tough when buying an expensive coin.

Okay, if slabbed these edge abnormalities are probably from the holder. Very nice AU-55 coin.

Do you think it looks cleaned at all?

There are some small hairlines on reverse but it does look original. They might be friction lines from being in an old coin cabinet which early collectors used.

IMO the surfaces are original (coin not cleaned). I'd grade it as XF. IMO those rim areas are damage.

That mystery rim piece is too neat and symmetrical to be mint-produced. Have you simply asked the seller if that is part of the slab?

What you are seeing is part of the holder. They cropped the picture and left part of the holder in the pic.

au53 due to limited luster. likely in a au55 slab. looks original to me with light market acceptable wipe marks in reverse fields. agree that the coin is pictured in a PCGS slab.
