Caleb hereIt appears that I will be spending the next couple of days, rigorously uploading photos, specifically in this thread, then I shall migrate elsewhere! I hope y'all enjoy these photos. I am rather new to the study of coinage. I have always enjoyed coins, and appreciated the history behind them. I have come to this forum in hopes of finding and discussing US coinage with anyone and everyone who is willing to share their "two cents." If you have anything to share with me, or anyone on this thread regarding an example I upload.. Please do share! That is why I am here, to engage conversation and learn new things about these coins! Here's the dime, I'll quit typing. Regards Caleb Edited by coinquestionman 04/06/2019 01:38 am

No, I did not. My Grandfather purchased this item, I literally just now removed it from a "plastic bag or Cellophane package." Nice name by the way, definitely no errors there!

Again. Looks like your starting a Mercury dime collection. Are you planning on getting an album to put them in?

Justcarl says Quote:Looks like your starting a Mercury dime collection. Are you planning on getting an album to put them in? Ya know, I'm not quite sure yet. We aren't even sure what we have. I have a general idea of what coins we have, nothing crazy. A good little amount of silver. I do enjoy these coins, but then again I don't have any special attachment to them. My Grandfather began to collect coins in his latter days, he suffered a stroke and unfortunately may have been victim to a couple of scams, but he had a pretty good idea of what he was doing. My Grandfather and I share different hobbies. These coins are definitely all remarkable, every last one of them. I am so excited to share these photos with y'all and learn about all of these coins. I really need to pump them out as I am taking a couple summer courses which is right around the corner. My friend T-BOP asks if it is from Littleton Coin Co. And the answer is ding ding ding we have a winner! yes is correct. What are your experiences with the Littleton Coin Co. If you don't mind me asking?

Dime is worth silver melt value, around $1.00 If you bought coins from Littleton, you will soon find out that you likely paid highly inflated prices.

Thanks for your input jimbucks. I did read about the Littleton Coin Co. on the internet and I'm not surprised one bit to see reviews like "They took advantage of my Elderly father!" "Horrible customer service!"

Quote: "They took advantage of my Elderly father!" They don't discriminate, they will sell their stuff to anyone. If my memory is correct, in the 1960s and 1970s they targeted kids by advertising in comic books. Best to hold your nose, and not be surprised at what the actual value is worth. It amazes me that the TV coin guys can sell their material for crazy prices, when most people could just see what the true value is by going to ebay.

Honestly jimbucks (keep wanting to call you jimbob lol ) I don't "really" care about the prices of these coins, but I do want to know how much they are worth. I am really interested in any coins related to WWII era! Quote:It amazes me that the TV coin guys can sell their material for crazy prices, when most people could just see what the true value is by going to ebay. I wonder if this is because some people simply have never even heard of ebay.
