Not sure if this is considered a DDO but most of the 2017s I've looked at have an error is some way or another. I know they're new and probably not worth anything, I just want to make sure I'm looking at it right.

Alright then. I found a new role of 2017s and most of them are like this. Guess the mint just gave up on making decent coins.

I forgot to ask. Does Machine Doubling reduce the price of a coin if in good condition? (not the 2017s but an older coin I have with similar doubling)

It won't, but some people are picky about genuine Doubled Dies having Machine Doubling on them.

When MD coins are graded, they are considered as part of the strike. Not lowering the grade. MD is just considered as normal coin to the graders. But to a collector, it is something detestable to them them, if it is on a variety coin. A large percentage of the 1969-S DDO-001 have Machine Doubling on them. A very low percentage of them don't have the Machine Doubling.

Classic MD on the date.
And the thickness on LIBERTY is probably a result of result of one of two non-valuable Working Hubs.

Here is a link with info on the Working Hubs for 2017.
