I see this statistic regularly but always forget to ask for input on it. In the SPMC newsletter this week, PMG indicates that only 49% of PCGS notes submitted to PMG crossed at their original or higher grades.

How does this square with your own experience?

That number surprises me. I would think second tier TPGs would be at that anemic success rate and PCGS to be much higher. I've held the opinion that PMG had slightly higher grading standards than PCGS.

I am without personal experience.

I have no specific experience either, but have gradually formed a definite bias against PCGS notes over the years based primarily on the centering of CU examples in the 64-66 range. If polled I might have guessed a 20-30% crossover fail rate, but certainly not nearly 50%

My experience level is ZERO also; but I sort of go along with @SteveInTampa;
