coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/18/2019 12:45 pm If the first image is of a letter on the outer ring, they are not die gouges. They are contact marks on the coin. The devices on the outer ring are incuse. So surface scratches can appear to look like they run behind the devices. But they are on the surface of the coin.
