I found this 1988 penny in my pocket change and started looking and noticed that the A is doubled or stamped twice and there are dots above both T in united states. The dots are similar to the ones beside e pluribus unum. Has any seen a coin of this year like this before? Sorry I didnt provide a pic of the front but it appears that the bow is doubled/stamped again. I just started researching coins, any help on this is much appreciated. Thanks.

To CCF! I don't really see what your talking about. It might be just a case of Pareidolia.

@jake06, first welcome to CCF. Second, when I rotate your pic, it looks to me like the first letter of AMERICA has some light me hanical doubling present. MD is quite common and does not bring a premium generally.

to CCF. Agreed it is MD and the two dots above the T look like zinc rot starting. Not an error.

to the community and the hobby. As Spence stated the "A" is Machine Doubling (MD). The dots could be plating bubbles but I can't tell for sure from your photos.
In the future include a full coin photo of both sides of the coin. It may not have helped in this case but sometimes it does.
Keep hunting. Your eye will get better over time and please post anything you have a question about.
