This coin caught my eye at a local auction. The auction ends in 4days and the bidding is a t $350. Usually coins at this auction don't reach these prices, so I was curious about it.

I know it has a low mintage and I have seen some high online prices. If anyone has any information on this coin (different variations, was to be on the look out for etc.) it would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

I believe there is only one type.
Frequently faked though.

Looks OK on screen, but
Mr T is right.
Need to examine carefully in hand, with a 10x loupe, before making a decision to bid.
If you can, take another .500 British Crown with you, and comparative ping tone test it.

I have been chasing a Wreath Crown for years, to find good example at a reasonable price. So far, I have failed; they are scarce.

The coin is okay to me and the price 350 is also acceptable.

Last time I checked the coin was approaching $450. I decided to pass.

Thank you for all the help.
