Looks like it, but shame about the hole that someone attempted to drill through it...

I think it is a SSN. Looks like there were a few bidders who thought it was too.

Yes, it looked like a SSN. We've discussed it on another forum. They are really hard to find. I'll bet the owner wondered what the H was going on with the bids.

The 'hole' don't help though.

The coins were clearly re-arranged between obverse and reverse photos. It is possible the lot has the common 1882H single serif N instead?

I noticed that, but I think all the others are obverse 2, so that should be the 1881 with the SSN.

I missed it indeed, but since I'm chasing Mr.Turner's #1 PCGS Registry spot, the drill hole wouldn't have helped me

Looks like this wasn't an 1881-H SSN. I saw this for sale in a lot of 7 coins by the same seller. It's an 1876-H. You can see the attempted hole. I think what happened is the seller had an obverse photo of one lot of 7 mixed with a reverse photo of a different lot of 7. The new listing has the photo of the same 7 obverses with the correct 7 reverses. These are crops of the one we thought might be the 1881-H SSN.

So I was partially right. That's the danger with group lots where the coins were re-arranged between pictures. Even worse when the reverse pics dont even match the coins I bought my 1906 25c small crown PCGS F12 (top 5) in a group of junk silver and paid about $800. You could barely make out the small crown but it was there. Unfortunately, a different situation than here, where you need to confirm both obverse and reverse pics to get the 1881H SSN.

Well thats a relief for me as I have been trying really hard to find one and I was pretty bummed when this slipped through when it was even in my watch list, wierd that the buyer left a positive feedback tho especially when the pics were messed up,
