If this were a Cud, the affected area would be higher than the rim. (because the edge of the die would have been broken off the die:

On die attrition, the die was a MAD setup and the die started rubbing on the collar. Removing the edge of the die to be altered showing a wider rim, and coving some devices:

It's called Post Strike Damage ( PSD), not an error at all.
