Dear VAMers,

I just found this coin (don't have it in Hand yet, will be shipped to me) and am a little confused, as this to me doesn't exactly match VAM-3, 4 or 5.
Also, the strange coloured area next to the mintmark, what could this be?

Sorry for the not so perfect Pictures, maybe somebody out there has an idea about this coin. I'll try to add better pics as soon as the coin arrived.

Thx!

My guess is the stain is glue or something similar and it looks like a VAM-5 LDS.

That's what I was guessing, too regarding the stains. Could be VAM-5 LDS you're right, although it's hard to tell on These pics.

As soon as the coin arrives I'll update the pics.

Have to agree - that's definitely glue.

You're right, I received the coin in the meantime. it's some kind of glue. I'm thinking about trying to remove it carefully.

It's a LDS broken S VAM 5 variety, I'll try to post better pics later!
Thx

Acetone should take off any glue quickly and safely. Let us know how it goes.

Hi, yes I'll try to remove the glue with acetone. I'll post pictures after I did :)
will it be a 'details' after cleaning with acetone?

This one appears to be a details coin currently. I see a lot of hairlines on the obverse and reverse.

okay, if it is already a details I don't really care about removing the glue. I'll figure it out and post pics afterwards. Thx for sharing your ideas! :)
