I have no idea what this is it looks like the planet just cracked and fell off. Anyone has any ideas throw them out there

@FIF32, can you please confirm whether or not the nickel is thinner in the area of missing detail--it looks like a split planchet to me. Perhaps add a shot of the edge to this thread? Also, I think if your orient your phone horizontally, then your images will upload oriented properly for us. Thx.

Looks like a lamination flaw where part of it has fallen after being struck.
Please rotate your photos as per CCF instructions.

Or a struck through a split planchet. Part fell off. The rest is still there. Weight? If it is slightly over that could be the answer.
