I'm sorting through an old stash and would like to keep an eye out for these. Is there a comprehensive list (or link) for the closed 5 that someone can point me to?

Thanks!

I don't really collect nickels so I can't be of much
help but I have never heard of a closed 5 variety.
I tried looking up the different varieties for my own
info but can't find anything on a closed 5.
Do you have pictures you could post so we can see what
it is you are reffering to?

Thanks Rora57-
Just never heard of this before.
Looking at the picture, there doesn't seem to be
a big difference. You would probably have to look
at it under a glass to see it.

It's not a variety, it's an error and as such it can possibly occur in any year from the 50's.
I know that 1956 is not the only date for which this error has been found, but I don't recall the others..

So far it seems the 1953, 1955, and 1956 years have the closed 5 nickel.

Are there other known dates?

Thank you for the help!

We have the 1955 both closed and open 5's
