I have been reading the 1969 s DDO story, about how the secret service thought it was counterfeit because of the 1969 counterfeit cent that was discovered around the same time.

I was wondering if anyone had a photo or knew where one was of that counterfeit 1969p cent. I just wanted to see what it looked like in comparison to the genuine 1969 s DDO cent.
Thanks
Mitch

interesting I never thought to look for a picture. I don't know where to find one but I would certainly like to see it!

I heard that story as well, but I never thought about pictures. It was probably destroyed before any pics were taken.

The story is true. Some were confiscated and thought to be counterfeit. But guess what? They were destroyed, and were the real deal. So there are a few less of these:

And most have Machine Doubling on them.

I was referring to the actual counterfeit ones that were made, the 1969 p ones, not the 1969 S ones. The ones that caused the Secret Service to think that the 1969 S DDO were fake as well.
