Was just wondering if anyone took a little brake from coin searching or collecting to have a little summer time fun. I took a 4 week break. Its funny the ownermy the local coin shop I go to weekly called me last Monday to see if I was OK. I went there Friday first time in 4 weeks to pick up some supplies and browse. Found some nice 1943 steel cent D,P,S and a 10 cent fractional note. Back to the normal routine of roll searching ,posting on this forum ,buying online and hitting the coin shops. Seeking: A little brake now back to the hobby Rainman

On the contrary, summer is when I expand - both the knowledge and the collection!

I guess that would depend on your definition of slack off and the starting point for that slackness .
I have slowed to some degree ,,I have done more trading than buying but still adding a few coins a week to my collection .
Im selling a few things right now so I can pursue a few certian coins I need !

I have had a slacking off period for awhile and really think it started before summer, I am just starting to buy anything again now. The reason is because I was trying to help out a friend of mine (my sons mother)every month (because her and her husband split up about the same time my wife and I split up)and was paying rent for them to have a place to go but I finally got to stop that so I now have a little money to spend on things for me and my collection. This has only been about a month so this first month has been a little slow because its time for the kids to go back to school and stuff and they needed all their school supplies and clothes this month but hopefully soon I will be able to buy like I used to

Actually I spent a lot of time on my coins this past summer... mainly towards the last month when I started roll searching nickels and halves. Finding 53 40%s in 3 rolls did a good job of thrusting me back into collecting

I've made very few purchases over the summer. Most of my funds have gone into baby stuff for the new arrival and have been saving some to spend at the CoinFest in November.
