Hit me with it! Did I find a DD? 1972 LMC DDO -008 possibly stage B/C. I don't know for sure. Looks as if there are the dot and die clash above Ts in Trust. Tried to get as good of pics an dose ups as I could. Considering damage. Also appeared to have a die crack on one of last columns on reverse.

Yes, I am confident it is a DDO. Which number, I'm not sure. Best guess is DDO-008, DDO-006 and DDO-003. Try matching your coin to the listings here:

Awesome find!

Not the nicest looking coin but it is a solid doubled die.
Now go get another.

The biggest clue is on the upper image. I know what it is , but want you to spot the differences on your coin. That is the best way to learn.

I've been doing a lot of reading over the differences. Which I've heard you guys say before, MD is flat or shelf like doubling. But now, I'm seeing true doubling kind of has a more rounded appearance. There are still some that throw me off. with the very light doubling or the thickness. I wish it were a little better specimen, but I'll take it. Coop I tried to look for the die markers. It looked a lot like the 003. But than appeared to have the marker over the T like 008. Thanks! I was about to give up my hunting! I started going back over old coins that I looked at in the very beginning of my error search, over a year ago. This was one of them ! I just had a small magnification loop before.

Correct. it is 008. looking at them side by helps so much more. This all these side by side images. Makers can be there or be missing. (Depending on die states) How can that happen.
With if the marker happened to the die after your coin was struck?
Or what if the die was polished and now the marker is missing?
What if the opposite die was replaced?
So many factors to consider. Look at the sites like CONECA (Variety Vista) that show various die stages. Note how the devices doubled dies are affected as the die ages. Sometimes this makes a big difference.
