The $100 1928 Series Numerical FRN from St. Louis is a tough customer, with an original print run of just 187K. It has appeared in CU only a handful of times in the last ten years at Heritage, most recently at $4.5K in PMG 64PQ and a whopping $11.4K in PMG 66PQ last year.

So here we have another example in a CGA latest-generation holder. Grade aside, the margins are impressive.

Should I cut it and submit it to PMG raw? Opinions appreciated.

ABSOLUTELY! I think you know that C.G.A. holders (any generation) are viewed as poison by many people -- especially ME!

That looks like a nice note, and it should hold its own. I can only presume you paid a discount over the CGA grade for it, I would be disappointed if you didn't! Let us know how it grades out with PMG. If you didn't see the holder, what would YOU grade it?

There's are reasons people use CGA and I don't think any of them are good.

I was out of town and totally missed this thread.

What a wonderful example Mr.Frog. I believe it's definitely a candidate for crossing to PMG.

Do not cut.

If it grades lower you just lost hundreds or even thousands of dollars in value.

Well, I expect it to grade lower. The questions: Will it grade MS, and is it PQ paper? Even in a PMG 65EPQ holder it's worth more than in this holder.
