Please Identify This Far East Coin I Assume Is Japanese

It has had me stumped for quite a while, specially as I was looking under Japanese coins in Numista et al. I have been in the deep end the last few weeks identifying and recording the 900+ coins I have inherited (twenty years ago!) and I have learned a great deal.
