I am finding a few coins that have stuck out as being different. And I am trying to learn what to look for and what is normal. Any help would be appreciated. This is ine of them. A 197?'s Lincoln Penny that has the edges and most of the lettering missing. Is this a partial blank? Mis struck?

To CCF! Just a damaged coin showing Post Strike Damage ( PSD), meaning that the damage happened after it left the U.S. Mint (after the strike). Not an error and worth 1 cent.

@AW111701, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @e&v that this coin has been damaged rather than being a mint error. That said, I hope that you post more of your odd coins here.

Yes, but in the future please take better pics and rotate them correctly.

That is a great point @jimbucks.

@AW111701, I believe that when you took this picture with your phone, you were holding it vertically. If you can hold it horizontally (i.e. with both hands), then your next pics should come out right-side up when you post them here. Thx!
