Or a piece of foil from another coin was struck to the coin. Way to tell? If there is plating under a peeling edge, then that is what happened. No such thing as a lamination on a zinc cent. Lamination errors are part of poor mix of metal or a piece of debris that is struck onto a normal planchet. Zinc is a pure material and doesn't show lamination issues. Zinc coins can be heated and loosen the plating. Zinc coin can happen a partial plating. Zinc coins can have a rim burr split off the rim. But I've not yet seen a lamination issue on a zinc cent yet.
