Scrolling through the pages looking for something to feed my addiction I stumbled across this one. A bit on the high side, but what struck me as odd was no grade listed. Only "Genuine" and "Not gradable". Which is a first for me since I've seen hundreds with details grading included.

This aside, and although an expert by no means, it looks mint state to me. Not to mention looking as though it weren't cleaned or whizzed. So why the cryptic slab? Thoughts?

That's the way PCGS did it back in the day.
If you look at the certification number it has a 94 number.
Altered Surfaces. What that means is any ones guess

Genuine is a common grade on PCGS slabs where the encapsulated coin has problems. The 94 in the coin number means Altered Surfaces. Otherwise yes, it appears uncirculated. The price is ridiculous, that's problem-free MS64 money for a $50 coin.

There are three genuine options available for problem coins on the PCGS submission form.

Genuine with Details (default) (will print the coin problem as well as a details grade)
Genuine no Details
Do not holder Genuine-only coins

Thanks for the education. Can always count on it.

Although I'm lacking the date there is no way I'd pay near that. But since it is an undervalued low mintage I might go as high as the $50 mentioned. Might.
