Machine Doubling happens when the die bounces off the coin a second time..very common..no added value,except for EXTREME examples (which your coin is not...sorry)..safe to spend. to CCF, feel free to ask any questions, someones always here to answer...good luck.....also never hurts to read through the glossary to get familiar with coin terms....

MD and die wear. On the motto, the devices start spreading in that direction as the die ages. The die wear is most often in the direction towards the closest rim. Thus it makes it appear as it was a wider device.

Why is this not hub doubling? Because the shape is not exact as the devices. It looks distorted. A doubled die would not be mushy like peanut butter coming out of a sandwich.
