Looking at the die clash it doesn't line up, in columns where it is on a normal coin... right? Wondering if this coin is rotated on REV?

Even a rotation side by side is not exact for this one.

These are not exact though.

The problem is that for a 'Y' to be in the first bay, the outside devices would be over the edge of the coin. The rest of the coins reverse is not showing that. The devices would be off center on the obverse. It looks closer to 6.0. The obverse is showing the start of a Ridge Ring starting. Any visible Machine Doubling on the coin, either side? That could cause the obverse die to move a bit, but I'm not seeing it on the images? I would keep it safe for now. So hang onto it.

It is definitely a die clash on the reverse:

1988-P-LMC-Die-Break-Die-Clash-Die-Scratches

The reason that doesn't match the overlay is that the obverse die that struck your coin is not the obverse die that caused the clash. That die was striking coins off center and most likely was damaged and replaced. The reverse die was polished to remove the majority of the clash and put back into service with a new obverse die. Obviously, your coin was struck a bit later because the newer obverse die is showing wear (but no noticeable polishing lines).

I hope that makes sense.

If the dies are aligned properly (no rotation), the Y clash should be more at the top of the bay as shown in the overlay. The die, while being off center, must have been rotated a little as well on this coin or the reverse die could have been rotated. Take your pick.
