Haven't been adding as many coins to my India collection that arent Indo Sassanian, but sometimes it's fun to make an exception.

Southern India, Vijayanagar
Harihara II, 1377-1404
AR "10 rattis" 10mm, 1.8g

Obv: Stylized Sardula (lion) right, paw raised, dagger above, all within circular border
Rev: Ra Ja Dhi/ Ra Ja, sun and moon above (not sure what the backwards "Z" is?)

This is seemingly as close to perfectly centered and struck as these get, so that gives a nice warm fuzzy feeling!

India,-Vijayanagar---AR-10-Rattis-Of-Harihara-II

Vijayanagar was one of the last great empires of medieval India that was neither Islamic nor colonial. The empire was founded by Harihara I after an attempted invasion of peninsular India by the Delhi and Madurai sultanates saw the last king of the Hoysalas fall in battle. The Islamic invaders were driven off, and under Harihara II the empire came to control nearly the southern third of India. Although he had to drive off invaders periodically, Harihara II enjoyed a relatively tranquil rule and was a renowned patron of the arts and died peacefully at an advanced age.

Nice one. Nothing like a well centered dagger to give you that warm fuzzy feeling. Actually, that's quite a happy Fido rendition of the lion, so - yeah - I see where the feeling fits the coin. Good pickup.

Interesting coin @finn. When I saw the tail on this lion, I immediately thought of my Bohemian Prag Groschen from the late 15th/early 16th Century. It is odd how both artists interpreted this part in much the same way:
