Die cracks are common on Morgan dollars and typically do not command any premium. This one is probably worth around $17-19 since you did not post images of the entire coin.

I have several of them that were his and they are in individual cases. He had them for at least 30plus years. So not sure if he did or not.

I also found the years 1879, 1889, (2) 1890, 1901, and then this 1921. I am still looking over the others.

Just a little thought-wouldn't the die crack through the date be better known as a Retained Cud? Thanks. -CH27
