1922 Australian Penny Indian Obverse? Flat Based Lettering Or Cbl?

Sabrocks69 New Member Australia 42 Posts	Posted 05/24/2019 4:46 pm Hi Everyone, I've been doing some research on the 1922australian penny indian obverse, it appears I have to of them, not in the greatest condition obviously. I read about an 1922 australian penny indian obverse with flat based lettering is very rare and one like it sold for $9000-$10000 in 2017 the website I read this on is https://smallsauctions.com/1922-ind...PCGS-ms64bn/ I could be wrong but I think one of my two is an 1922 australian penny indian obverse with flat based lettering, If it is could u guys please tell me approx value in this condition and where would be the best place to sell it? nealeffendi Pillar of the Community Australia 852 Posts	Posted 05/25/2019 4:08 pm Not very rare, at least 20% of the date are Indians and according to the article 30% of the Indians are flat based. So roughly 6% of the 1922s are of this variety. The 1922 penny is about the most common Geo V penny to find (along with 1927 and 1936) in bulk lots so with a few thousand 1922s I've picked up scores of this variety (all average circulated) at under 20 cents each. They only get hard to get (like most older pennies) as you move up the grades (thus the article calls their 1922 in MS64 "extremely rare"; but not worth the price quoted.
