Can anyone please help me identify / authenticate this coin? From what I can tell, it appears to be Moroccan.

Thanks in advance!

.... to the Community!

Someone should chime in shortly to help you with what appears to be some sort or an ancient coin or a corroded replica of an ancient coin.

It looks like a Mitqal ( 10 dirhams) KM# 41 29.3 gr. but that should be silver.

@Spartan, is this a large heavy coin? About the size of a half dollar, but considerably heavier?

That would help confirm the ID suggested in the previous post.

Likewise, does it appear yo be a silver coin under the patina?

It is bigger than a U.S. quarter and not overly heavy. I do not think it looks silver. It is also non magnetic if that makes any difference. I uploaded another photo with a quarter for comparison purposes.
