Just got around to listing this one. 2016-P 25¢ ND with extra thickness and strong notching on the lower right corners of IN GOD WE TRUST and lesser extra thickness on LIBERTY and the mintmark.

The ATB Quarters are untapped goldmines for DDOs, there's a handful of extremely strong ones (2018-P Pictured Rocks, 2017-P Ozark Riverways just to name a few) and no one seems to be looking. There's probably more out there to be discovered. I have another one that a may get around to posting later.

As someone who's a total newbie at this and still finds it very hard to distinguish between faint double dies and MD/die deterioration, can you explain what you're looking at here that positively identifies it as a true DDO?

I'm not the best at making these side-by-sides but I hope this helps.

2016-P-Theodore-Roosevelt-ND-Quarter-DDO-Crdo-001

On a few of the letters (R, D , and N) There is slight separation between the two hubbings leaving what looks to be a line through parts of the letter. Most of the letters have a strong notch at the bottom right corners of each letter. Lastly, compared to a normal coin, the letters are much thicker from SW to NE and some of the letters look slightly distorted.

I'm just not seeing these are a doubled die. The doubled dies that Wexler lists are 98% only on the ear area. I would need to compare these with a full image of the motto with a side by side.

LIBERTY/IGWT ATB DDOs
2016-P Harpers Ferry WDDO-001
2017-P Ozark Riverways WDDO-001
2018-P Pictured Rocks WDDO-001
The ones I posted today are just minor examples of this type of doubling.

Ear ATB DDOs
2012-P Hawaii Volcanoes WDDO-001
2013-P Perrys Victory WDDO-001
2013-P Perrys Victory WDDO-002
2013-P Perrys Victory WDDO-003
2014-P Great Sand Dunes WDDO-001
2015-P Homestead WDDO-001
2015-P Blue Ridge Parkway WDDO-001

60% of ATB DDOs on doubleddie.com are on the ear, 40% are on LIBERTY and/or IGWT.

60/40 not 98/2

Just because IGWT/LIBERTY DDOs are not as common, does not mean they are not real DDs.
