The penny Wes struck and if became dished with no distorion to either side of the coin. The rim is very different it has 2 ridges as well but uniform all the way around. Am is close as well. I seen coins like this before. I feel it is normal. Not damaged like an Encased Coin. An Encased Coin flattens the rim, not the edge area of the coin:  |

When adjusting the dies for proper stroke depth, wouldn't a short stroke depth give you that effect ?
Meaning a stroke that finished with the dies too far apart.

What has me I attributed the outrt wear to the elements here in Arizona they are harsh . But the coin is dished from center to rim and there is no sign of the pictures on either side being flattend or spread out as well the coins center depth from the center to the outside is about an 1/32 of an inch deep my guess.

The coin may have been damaged. I'm referring to the bevel on the edge of the coin. I've seen that before on normal coin age. Been nice this year in Arizona. Not the feeling yet of being next to a furnace yet this year.

Your are right about the weather out there Coop
Phoenix is unreal cool for this time of the year as far as I can remember. There is some detoriation due my guess to the weather and elements I'm wondering if it was on a collection o found it out on a sidewalk and I have never seen one quite like this as well as the closest thing I can find online is a similar die cap error and 2006 doaent show much in that area at all online somewhere kinda lost with it.

The coin has been damaged. I suspect by heat, That could result in the grey color, and if it was on something like a washer and placed over a central hole nearly the size of the cent then heated, as the zinc softend to near its melting point the cent would begin to "sag" through the hole giving the dished shape.
