Can you please help me figure out what's going on with his ear and there appears to be some line going through back of his head and on reverse the leaves on the torch are worn or something?

Ok thanks for posting this. I see a gouge on Roosevelt's head and then normal wear and tear plus a circumferential scratch that might be the result of a rolling machine on the back. Unless I'm missing something, nothing that adds value to this coin.
