Found in our throw away coins at my old store. I love collecting Canadian coins.

80% silver.
1968 saw the transition away from silver.

I live in Connecticut and during
the 60s and 70s it was not uncommon to get a Canadian
coin in change. OF COURSE I saved them!

Thank you. I haven't been on in years. Life to place. Lol
I was at Ft. Drum with my daughter and grandkids. So we lived VERY close to Canada. So I got several nickels, pennies and quarters. Then I have some I've collected other places as well.

It's a pleasant change to see animals other than Bison and Eagles. My favorite was the 1967 rabbit.

the 1967 dime, can be either 50% or 80% silver as they switched half way through the year, we consider them 65% silver as there is no easy way to tell the difference, without melting the coin.

Very nice find. I grew up near the border and Canadian change never raised an eyebrow with anyone as it was so common. The 1967s were always special to find (although the nickel eluded me until about Y2k).
