Picked this slabbed one up cheap. Red spot is on the nose of Liberty. Dunno what it is. Grade opinions?

Some sort of foreign substance? Pics don't rally show the surfaces clearly, but I'd venture a 64.

I'd be tempted to go 65 if it weren't for that spot. Then add in the Reed Marks on the reverse and 64 is as far as it should go.

I think ms-63 is tops with the spot and Reed Marks. Maybe a details coin if the spot is considered ED.

Since there is no obvious abrasive cleaning I would guess that the TPG found that it had been dipped.

Pretty decent luster for a dipped coin. Since the slab doesn't really add much value here, it might be reasonable to crack it out and soak it in acetone. Not much to lose, and that spot is pretty distracting.
