I certainly have a strong opinion, but I'd like to see the note first as well.

Since PCGS Currency is no longer in business, a PCGS regrade is no longer an option. Also, with the holder opened that way, I believe the note will be graded as a raw note by any other grading service and wouldn't be eligible for crossover consideration.

AFAIK there are currently 4 options for currency grading -

Currency Grading and Authentication (CGA)

Legacy Currency Grading

Paper Money Guaranty (PMG)

Superior Grading

PMG and Legacy have membership fees and CGA and Superior do not. ANA members can submit to PMG for free.

Legacy is new and doesn't yet have a track record. It is Jason Bradford's (former owner of PCGS Currency) new company.

IMHO most collector's prefer PMG.

Agree PMG is the best choice for new submissions - PGCS deservedly fell out of favor over the past five years, to the point where only about half of their graded notes will cross at PMG today. I would not think that this relatively common note would deserve resubmission.

I would have suggested PMG, as well.

Send it in raw.You may or may not fall on your sword.
But at least you will have a correctly graded note in a secure holder.

Just to see if that Is the bill they graded.

The serial number on the note matches the serial number described on the holder, so that looks legit. While checking values in my guide, I noticed that your note is listed as the highest known note for the series and District...that's pretty cool.
