@al93, first welcome to CCF. Second, as soon as you can post pics of both sides of your coin, we should be able to help you. If you are having trouble, the "tutorial" link at the top of your screen should be helpful.

image a bit small, but that is a 1964 Lincoln Cent struck at the denver mint

Looks like one of the 3,799,071,500 Lincoln cents which were minted in Denver in 1964.

I see some surface stainng but otherwise this coin looks pretty normal. What are you seeing with the coin in hand?

There is a stain between his neck and the date and also a bit of purple toning on the bust and left field. It's nice looking, but fairly normal.
