the type of gold coin you will find at a dealers table in a box of "take your pick at $XXX" Slider AU minor wear hairlines, not worth slabbing, but still worth over melt in gold as a collectible coin.

Nice no motto $10 Liberties are hard to find, close to melt. Would $950 be a reasonable price to buy this one? That's the Grey Sheet wholesale price for an AU55.

$950 is not a reasonable price for an AU+ 1852 Eagle IMO. $850 is top dollar. This much nicer, again my opinion, NGC AU55 recently sold for $810 at Heritage Auctions. Throw the price sheets away on common date gold and look at completed auctions. My sister just bought a With Motto Eagle in PCGS MS63 for $675 (Books at $800 easy). https://coins.ha.com/itm/liberty-ea...ption-071515

Quote: How much total $ with buyers premium and postage? Realized prices always include the Buyer's Premium. Figure $15 S&H and you're at $825.

Quote: How much net $ did the seller get? There is no way to know for sure since seller's fees vary widely. It's safe to assume the seller didn't do very well. They would have only netted about $670 if they got 100% of the hammer price and they likely got less than that.

Wow! It might be hard to get your money back, out of such a coin, unless you paid close to melt.
