That is it for the short term until I offload my Prussian Crowns to re-deploy resources :) Probably the nicest 3 Austrian Crowns I have come across in a while. These are all certified - let me know how you would grade them. 1711/12 Taler Overstrike - This coin got me into collecting Austrian Talers. Not many with such design. Salzburg 1796 (Mozart's close friend) Leopold 2 Taler (ND) - My first 2 Taler coin!

Those are some beautiful coins! Thanks for posting them! XF-AU, MS, VF-XF On the reverse of Salzburg thaler, there may be a slight rub on the upper lion, but I think it is just a weak strike.

Thanks wwhitman The 2 Taler is 55mm in size. BTW - NGCs grades - AU-58, AU-58, AU-50. I believe the latter maybe overgraded. The 1711/12 in my opinion (looking at the coin here) undergraded - it's a real beauty.

Zohar444, I still will go with the MS on the second coin. Since I am not extremely familiar with these coins,is there an issue with grading higher than AU?

Really beautiful coins! You have got quite a collection by know. Do you have standards for it, like "Nothing below XF?"

Wow - more nice talers! The grades look fairly close to on target. The 55mm 2 taler is one nice hunk of silver. How does it look in the oversided NGC holder? I have a couple of 55mm medallic talers at NGC right now (one being the 1724 I posted the other day), so I am curious to know how they will look (if they make it in the holder of course). Is the Salzburg piece as colorful as it looks?
I also really like the Hall DAV-8097 piece. The surfaces on that one in particular look wonderful

Thanks - the oversized holder is very wide and rectangular making the coin small in size compared to the holder size. The box needed is the NGC larger box for these special size holders.

Re 1796, it is well toned with some coloring. I have another which is a lighter tone 1777 date.
