hello. I have a 1958 DDO cent that I recently discovered. I am a PCGS member and wanted to submit however it still has some verdigras on the surface. with the value of the coin I didn't know if it would be wise to try and clean or get cleaned or if it is proper to have encapsulated with some still on the surface. any thoughts? thanks

Sometimes best to leave them alone. If they are not a $100+ coin, it is not worth grading. Depending on what you have. If it iw a die variety, and is the Big DDO, It would be worth submitting it. But if it is not, then probably not worth submitting. If it was a high value coin, I would never do anything to alter the coin. The value can be totally ruined if an undesirable attempt was Done to the coin.

Closeups are needed of IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY and Date. But if you want a quick answer from the pic you just posted it appears to be just a well circulated 1958 P cent.

Not a Doubled Die. Just a very well circulated and beat up Lincoln Wheat cent. Definitely not worth getting it graded by a TPG. Save your money.

Corroded, damaged, and if it is a DDO it is NOT the wildly expensive one. So even if it IS a DDO chances are that hafter slabbing it would not be worth what it cost to have it put into the holder.
