Can definitely see the splits on both serifs.
I'm rooting for you to have found a new one.

It is a RPM, but a minor one. It may/may not be listed. But I save them anyway.

Me too, but most of my errors are in judgement.

Could it be CC 1MM-015. There is a NW to SE die scratch barely missing the lower left side of the 1 that extends down to the vest. It seems similar on your coin and CC image. Your images don't show the position of the MM in relation to the date and CC doesn't show the top of the 5. Yours looks to be a fairly early die state coin. Not many flow lines and the devices look pretty sharp. At the very least it might be a new stage with that chip on the first 5 . CC 1MM-015 LINK- http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=mds

But the location of the mintmark is different. So it is not that die number.

I would think with that big ole narly booger on the top of the five well could be a new find. All the ones I looked at are a lil different and NONE have the booger lol on the five..

Just a terminal die chip. The wheat cents form the 50's had a lot of issues when they run the dies past retirement.

Thanks Coop because the position was hard to tell til I enlarged the full obv to 300%.
I'm trying to fine tune my understanding of die states, so please bear with me. Since this is an EDS coin wouldn't this be more likely be die damage instead of die wear from age?

Die damage can be from outside sources like bad handling. Or from the die not being tempered incorrectly. Sometimes dies that start going down that path with a die chip get retired early. Or they may just keep using it. To them. they are not as picky as we are. Stuff happens to dies.
